MOODY BLUE (FTD)

Endless Summer Festival
From the booth tapes Vol. 2

Wednesay, August 22, 1973 Dinner and Midnight Shows
Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas, NV

Label: Straight Arrow Special Products SA/SP 2014-19-02
Coming out soon is the new Straight Arrow's double-digipak CD release "ENDLESS SUMMER FESTIVAL!", featuring the August 22, 1973 Dinner and Midnight performances. Both shows are taken from original „booth recordings", taped by the same person. The sound quality is far superior to the usual audience recordings. Ask your local dealer for samples!
The year's journey from Hawaii to Nevada was almost at its end on August 22, 1973. That Wednesday night, Elvis delivered two professional, sold-out performances for the faithful at the Las Vegas Hilton with a mix of the old and new, including a stunning, yet-to-be recorded cover of Richard Harris' 1971 single, "My Boy." After the final Hilton show on September 3, bass player Emory Gordy would leave to return to the more creative studio environs of Nashville, Presley would instruct manager Tom Parker to leave his employ, his wife Priscilla Beaulieu would leave for good, and Elvis himself would nearly leave the land of the living.  It was a long, long way down from that worldwide broadcast in Honolulu on January 14, but the man would survive, somehow, and return to sing his soul that December in Memphis.

It should be noted that neither of these superb-quality, off-line concert recordings have been previously issued.  Both shows are completely new, even to die-hard Elvis fans. They were never in circulation, in any form. Enjoy the music!

At Dinner In Vegas & Back On Track In Vegas

At Dinner In Vegas & Back On Track In Vegas
Touchdown Productions proudly presents two new audience recorded releases. One of it, the dinner Show from September 3, 1972 is another totally new show that didn't even circulate on CDR or in any other form. The show was very good, Elvis was in fine form and sang some very fine renditions of "What Now My Love", "I'll Remember You" and also "For The Good Times"! The sound quality is good for this kind of recordings. The CD comes with a beautiful designed 16-pages booklet.
Tracklisting - "At Dinner In Vegas"
[01] See See Rider (2.21) - [02] Johnny B Goode (1.41) - [03] Until It's Time For You To Go (2.25) - [04] You Don't Have To Say You Love Me (1.59) - [05] Polk Salad Annie (3.48) - [06] Elvis Talks (0.48) - [07] What Now My Love (3.13) - [08] Fever (2.52) - [09] Love Me (1.58) - [10] Blue Suede Shoes (1.10) - [11] Heartbreak Hotel (with false start) (2.50) - [12] Hound Dog (2.18) - [13] Love Me Tender (1.38) - [14] I'll Remember You (2.25) - [15] Walk That Lonesome Road (feat. All tracks recorded on September 3, 1972 at the dinner show.
At the same time Touchdown Produtions will release the midnight show from January 28, 1974. Elvis was much more focussed during the first Vegas engagement in 1974 as he had been during the former engagement when Elvis presented himself less professional than in recent years. The midnight show had an interesting song line-up which included some seldom sung songs like "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'", "Spanish Eyes" or "Sweet Caroline". The soundquality is good for this kind of recordings. The CD comes also as usual with a beautiful designed 16-pages booklet including lots of rare pictures from this engagement!

Tracklisting - "Back On Track In Vegas"
[01] Also Sprach Zarathustra (0.38) - [02] See See Rider (2.47) - [03] I Got A Woman/Amen (3.53) - [04] Love Me (1.44) - [05] Let Me Be There (2.54) - [06] You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' (4.15) - [07] Sweet Caroline (2.19) - [08] Love Me Tender (1.47) - [09] Long Tall Sally/ Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin On/ Mama Don't Dance/ Flip, Flop And Fly/ Jailhouse Rock/ Hound Dog (2.27) - [10] Fever (2.17) - [11] Polk Salad Annie (2.43) - [12] Introduction of The Voice (0.32) - [13] Killing Me Softly (by The Voice) (2.43) - [14] Spanish Eyes (3.05) - [15] Suspicious Minds (3.53) - [16] Band Introductions (1.48) - [17] Introductions of Celebrities (2.11) - [18] I Can't Stop Loving You (2.15) - [19] Help Me (2.35) - [20] Introduction of Marty Pasetta (0.51) - [21] American Trilogy (4.03) - [22] A Big Hunk O'Love (2.12) - [23] Can't Help Falling In Love (1.37) - [24] Closing Vamp (0.45) - [25] The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (2.57)
All tracks were recorded on January 26, 1974 at the midnight show with the exception of track 25 which was recorded on February 8, 1974 at the dinner show.

Sweet Home Alabama

Sweet Home Alabama

Welcome to the second CD release by TNT Records. After a quick sell-out of our first title "Goin´ Back To Houston" and again with a little help from our friends at "Audionics" - probably THE premium and still active label when it comes to rare recordings in best possible sound - we decided once more to pick two shows from "Tour Number 14" (May 30 – June 10, 1975). On this brandnew double-cd set (Release Date: January 15, 2013) you are going to hear both concerts Elvis did right after a couple of great "warm up"-concerts in Huntsville, AL. Elvis then went on for Concerts number 6 and 7 of "Tour Number 14". Both shows took place in Mobile, Alabama. And the town went nuts for The "King". As a matter of fact everybody had to admit that Elvis might have been the only entertainer in 1975 who was able to play a sold out crowd on a Monday afternoon! Both Mobile-Shows have been released before, the afternoon performance even came out by the legendary "Madison"-Label. Anyhow if you have missed the show´s first releases from approximately 10 years ago or if you want to owe them in even better sound than before plus exactly the way they were recorded (without the standard "2001 Theme / See See Rider" opening) you should not miss this great new double cd! You can also expect a great booklet full of photos and information including newspaper articles and original paperwork. Ask your local dealer for it, he should have it right in time around the scheduled release date for you!

Audionics will release their 5th CD of this year early December. It is a kind of sequel to "ALOHA JERRY" CD (Audionics 2013-01-2) - once again dedicated to the eighth Las Vegas season.
These recordings were captured almost a month to the day of the "Aloha From Hawaii" satellite broadcast, and it's inevitable to make some comparisons. It's been said that Elvis was depressed about having to return to Las Vegas again following the huge success of the broadcast, but this newly discovered recording does not bear that out at all.
Elvis sounds more relaxed and more at ease on this recording, and there is an intimacy present on this recording that is missing from "Aloha". It's interesting to note that many of the songs that he performed during the satellite show are missing here. In fact, the layout of the show is somewhat reminiscent of the structure of the Las Vegas shows in August 1970, with a strong mix of recent material and Elvis classics.
All recordings presented on this CD are previously unreleased. The February 13th, 1973 dinner show is completely new even to die-hard Elvis fans. It was never in circulation and it is taken from an original "booth recording, " made from a booth close to the stage and PA speakers. It is remarkably superior to usual audience tapes and soundwise fully comparable with our "ALOHA, JERRY" (Audionics 2013-01-2), February 23, 1973 Closing Night.
As a bonus, more of SOUNDBOARD tracks from the Dinner Show of February 10th, 1973 are included. Only part of this show was recorded, using a bass-heavy mix, possibly as a guide for future Fender bass players if Scheff left the Elvis Presley Show. Other tracks from this concert were used as a bonus on our "ALOHA, JERRY!" release. Once again, this is a previously unknown recording.
This release is presented in deluxe digipack with live and candid photos taken during January / February '73 Vegas season and with appropriate liner notes. If you have enjoyed "ALOHA, JERRY!" then you will be not disappointed by "ECHOES OF ALOHA"! Tracklist:

In Stock - Going Back To Houston (2 CD set)
Welcome to the first CD release by TNT Records. With a little help from our friends at "Audionics" - probably THE premium label when it comes to rare recordings in best possible sound - we decided to "dive deep" into one of the most well-known concert tours Elvis ever did. Much has been written about "Tour Number 14" (May 30 – June 10, 1975) so we don't want to bother you too much with even "more" information. On this brandnew double-cd set (Release Date: December 10, 2013) you are going to hear both concerts Elvis did right in the middle of the tour. Concerts number 9 and 10 took place in Houston, Texas. Although the reporters from the local papers "Houston Chronicle" (Dale Adamson) and "The Houston Post" (Bob Claypool) were not too happy with the way Elvis presented himself (you will see their original newspaper articles pictured in the 16-page booklet that comes with the cd) the excited crowd at the Hofheinz Pavilion in Houston still loved Elvis as they did since the 1950's. "Audionics" helped us to make a significant improvement in the sound of the two soundboard recordings. If you have missed the show´s first releases from more than 10 years ago or if you want to owe them in better sound than before plus exactly the way they were recorded (without the standard "2001 Theme / See See Rider" opening) you should not miss this great new double cd! Ask your local dealer for it, he should have it right in time before Christmas for you!

ELVIS 1969: IN MEMPHIS / IN PERSON-LIVE ON STAGE 1 & 2 (expected in the 1st week of January)
This release is intended to be a flawless release with the best sounding Elvis of 1969. We started by going back to the basic recordings of the American sound studio; the edited repaired master tracks without the dubbing done later in Nashville.
Elvis himself wasn't all that thrilled with some of the overdubs. It's been said that he was very happy with the sound on the acetates that he took home with him, but less so with the final masters.
Elvis heard the dubbed masters at a very late stage and very little could be done.
As an artist, you can't always be in complete control of your output, and clearly especially when your name is Elvis Presley.
These original master tracks were the result of the joint vision of producer Chips Moman, the musicians and Elvis.
The two most famous songs from these sessions are without a doubt "Suspicious Minds" and "In The Ghetto". In fact, they may well be the best-known recordings of his entire career. Just ask anyone to name two Elvis songs…
On disc 2 you will find the multi-track live recording of the August 24, 1969 Midnight Show. Thanks to existing tape legends, paperwork and research and the fantastic unprocessed soundboard recording of the same show, we were able to piece this show together as it was originally recorded. We double-checked and compared the whole show second for second with an audience recording of the show that we had recently acquired. There are only three songs borrowed from the dinner show: "I Can't Stop Loving You", "Runaway" and " What'd I Say", which are 98% identical to the midnight show versions. We used the career dialogue from the August 24, 1969 dinner show. We don't have this in multi-track quality and therefore we decided to include a third disc with the original raw unrepaired soundboard. As extra bonus, we used a very rare tape of a rehearsal from January 1969 at the American Sound Studios, where we can even hear a glimpse of Roy Hamilton singing!
The combination package "Elvis In Person & Back in Memphis" was the basic concept, but we wanted more. During the first days of the comeback in Las Vegas in 1969, special RCA presentation box sets were given away. These box sets are very rare and expensive to get hold of. This was the perfect 1969 package idea for this release.
INCLUDED ARE:
- A 28 page full color /b&w photo folio with 28 photos of Elvis in the style of 1969 including rare or unpublished photos.
- A 32 page full color booklet with original articles,
- An interview with Elvis from 1969, co-workers and musicians about recording at the American Sound Studios and performing in Las Vegas.
- Over 60+ photos of Elvis on stage (many from the same show), various are rare or unpublished
- 15 incredible photos of The American Sound Studio with Elvis, again some are rare or unpublished!!
- Previously unreleased versions.
- A rare studio rehearsal of January 1969.
- The unaltered raw audio of the August 24, 1969 M/S soundboard.
- The reproduction slipcase of the famous 1969 presentation box set.
- All recordings in excellent sound quality.
We hope you'll agree we did our best to respect and honour the original artistic ideas from 1969.

The tremendous enthusiasm provoked using the remaining recordings as well. It was proven right - it sold multi platinum.
Tracks 13 -22 were fully dubbed versions released on "Back In Memphis" which was also released as a double release with Elvis In Person as, "From Memphis to Vegas - From Vegas to Memphis". Track 23 was released as single and not added to either of the two studio albums. An extended live version was released on "Elvis In Person". Note: This disc includes some previously unreleased versions.

Disc three contains the raw unprocessed soundboard recording of the August 24, 1969 M/S, without effects. A significantly different August 24, Midnight Show when compared to the fragmented release over the years of the multi track recording. Edited due to improper language use or running times. Also segments of this show were used to repair or enhance other 1969 and 1970 multi track recordings. This is the real deal, uncut, raw and finally, no tons of reverb as on previous releases of this remarkable show.
"The "Elvis 1969" Box versions are the repaired versions without studio banter! Some tracks have a longer running time.
Presented exactly as they were prepared for in the spring of 1969 by producer Chips Moman with the okay of Elvis."
Some of the unrepaired, undubbed masters here were recently released by FTD, in some cases with studio banter. Our versions are the repaired versions and come without this banter, presented exactly as they were prepared for in the spring of 1969 for various overdubs. Our sole intention is to present these songs how they left the Memphis studio, with the okay of Elvis and producer Chips Moman.
The live show was assembled from various sources, including bits taken from regular releases in order to match up the correct audio with the best possible source. Our ultimate goal was to offer the best sounding, most complete multi track version of the 24 August Midnight Show. We also have possession of four reels with safety recordings from 1969 in fantastic quality. Some were previously released on FTD, but there were still little gems left which we wanted to offer. So we decided to put it on a third disc, and include even a very rare rehearsal from January 1969 in best sound available.
This is Elvis at his best in 1969 in the best sound possible.
